St. Joseph's has long had a reputation as a happy and caring Roman Catholic community, and we are extremely proud of this. Visitors regularly comment on the friendly, orderly and purposeful atmosphere in the school. Our mission statement lays down the values and principles that are the foundation of this community and we try hard to live up to these ideals.
Our pupils work hard to achieve high standards and there are many opportunities for them to engage in exciting out-of-hours activities in sport, the arts, serving others and outdoor ventures.
The staff are committed, talented and professional. They provide a caring, safe and supportive learning environment for our pupils and opportunities to enable them to develop fully their abilities and potential.
We endeavour to work in partnership with parents, pupils, governors, parishes and primary schools to offer the best possible education for each one of our pupils. We set out to ensure that every child entrusted to our care is made to feel welcome and that their time here is happy and successful.
The school achieved Specialist Sports College status in 2000, and the extra resources available have helped us to improve our facilities, to increase our staffing, to strive for excellence and to work closely with a family of schools.
